Hi eveyone. I'm a forensic examiner, sworn police officer for a municipality, and TFO for a government agency. I have asperarions of launching a side business doing forensics for civil attorneys to begin a transition to civilian work.

Being a police officer I only work criminal cases but I'm worried about potential conflicts of interest or potential ethics violations (maybe?).

This is just an idea in my head and I need to do a lot of research but I know enough members here were LEO and may have crossed this bridge before. A lot of this probably depends on the state, agency, etc but if anyone has some input I'd like to hear it.
